Mahmoud Abbas, chairman of the Palestinian Authority, and Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken had a conversation. Concern over the West Bank’s continuing violence was reiterated by Secretary Blinken. He reiterated American aid for initiatives to increase freedom and security and raise the standard of living for Palestinians. The Secretary and President Abbas talked about their backing of a two-state answer and their opposition to activities that might jeopardize it.
