Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s Diplomatic Advisor, Ambassador Francesco Talò, today in Rome to discuss issues of mutual concern. They underscored our shared determination to support the transatlantic alliance and the deep and enduring bilateral partnership between the United States and Italy. They also stressed the importance of continued support to Ukraine and strengthening energy security, as well as the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
