Nathan Tauck, 32, was given a 36-year sentence by U.S. District Judge Philip G. Reinhard in Rockford, Illinois, on May 12. He was also required to pay$ 60,000 in restitution in addition to life in prison under court supervision. Following a Homeland Security Investigations ( HSI ) investigation, Tauck was found guilty of sexual exploitation of children.

Tauck relocated to Europe and then China soon after committing the oppression crime in Rockford. There, he taught while also possessing and disseminating information about child sex abuse. Tauck revealed that he was trying to buy an infant in China with the intention of sexually abusing the child by exchanging website sexual abuse elements with another person.
After working with Chinese officials, Tauck was detained in China and returned to the United States in 2018.
