On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate and send my best intentions to the Vietnamese people on September 2nd, which is their 78th National Day.
The United States backs a powerful, rich, independent, and adaptable Vietnam. We are grateful for the partnership that our governments and people have established and are eager to collaborate on issues that advance our shared objective of a rich, available, adaptable, and peaceful Indo-Pacific Region.
On September 10, President Biden will make a historical trip to Hanoi, where I will enjoy everything we have accomplished up and make plans for our future.
