Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Sasha Baker met with Estonian Ministry of Defense Permanent Secretary Kusti Salm here at the Pentagon, September 8.
The leaders discussed efforts to strengthen defense security cooperation and to advance shared interests and priorities, including NATO’s deterrence and defense posture in the Baltic region.
Acting Under Secretary Baker thanked Permanent Secretary Salm for Estonia’s continued military assistance to Ukraine and reiterated the Secretary of Defense’s commitment to maintain persistent rotational presence in the Baltics. The leaders emphasized their steadfast commitment to Ukraine as it defends its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
