Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder provided the following readout:
The Secretary spoke on the phone today with Qatar Minister of State for Defense Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, to reaffirm the strength of the U.S.-Qatar defense partnership and U.S. commitment to continued security cooperation.
Secretary Austin thanked the Minister for Qatar’s continued support for regional stability and security and also for Qatar’s continued hosting of U.S. forces at Al-Udeid Air Base.
