Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III conducted an introductory call with his Greek counterpart, Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias, in preparation for the upcoming NATO Summit in Vilnius. Secretary Austin thanked Minister Dendias for Greece’s efforts to support the work to be approved by Allied Heads of State and Governments at the summit this week. The Secretary encouraged continued cordial relations between Greece and Turkiye and noted the significant security cooperation between the United States and Greece. Minister Dendias noted that he is committed to ensuring a strong alliance and successful NATO summit.
