Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke by phone today with Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar to reaffirm the wide range of shared interests between the United States and Türkiye. This call was a continuation of the leaders’ meeting at the NATO Defense Ministerial in Brussels last week. They discussed the importance of regional stability and reviewed ongoing defense cooperation.
