Today, the Department of Defense hosted the Defense Innovation Board (DIB) in the Pentagon. The DIB conducted sessions with senior leaders to explore and evaluate defense innovation issues.
Following the board’s public meeting, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III met with the DIB members to discuss their findings and recommendations on the National Defense Science and Technology Strategy and approaches to Strategic Investment Capital, related to the Office of Strategic Capital.
The DIB provides Department leaders independent advice and strategic insights on commercial- sector approaches to innovation that will enable the Department to build enduring advantages in a technology-driven environment.
