LOS ANGELES — A Romanian man wanted in his home country for attempted homicide was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers in Northridge, Oct. 13.
ERO Los Angeles Foreign Fugitive Officers apprehended Dorel Radu, 43, during a targeted enforcement operation; he was arrested without incident. Radu is currently wanted by the Government of Romania for the offense of attempted murder. On Dec. 6, 2019, the Bucharest Tribunal issued an arrest warrant for Radu.
“ERO Los Angeles is committed to focusing efforts to identify and remove criminal noncitizens and ensuring the safety of our shared community,” said ERO Los Angeles Field Office Director Thomas Giles. “This is a great example of how domestic and foreign enforcement partners work together to identify and arrest fugitives.”
Radu entered the U.S. at an unknown date, time, or location without being admitted or paroled by an immigration officer. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings with the Justice Department’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
Members of the public who have information about foreign fugitives are urged to contact ICE by calling the ICE tip line at 1-866-DHS-2-ICE or internationally at 001-1802-872-6199. They can also file a tip online by completing ICE’s online tip form.
