HOUSTON- Following an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations ( HSI ) Houston, a judge sentenced an Houston woman to serve 40 years in federal prison on August 2 for multiple charges of child sexual abuse and for sexually abusing children.
Elexis Kiera Sidney, 29, was given a 480-month federal prison term in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas’ sexual abuse of children, distribution of child pornography, and possession of such material. Sidney received a 360-month sentence for the charge of sexual abuse and 120 times for each of the charges related to child sexual abuse. The 120-month sentence for child sexual abuse materials convictions may be served at the same time. In federal prison, a child’s sexual abuse sentence will run concurrently with all other convictions for 480 months in total.
Sidney will spend the rest of her life on supervised release after serving her jail sentence, and the judge also ordered her to give$ 18,000 in restitution to the patients. During that period, she must abide by a number of rules intended to limit her exposure to kids. Additionally, Sidney must sign up as a sex offender.
